Camping has gotten an upgrade in recent years, with a number of glamping options offering the enjoyment of the great outdoors with all the amenities of luxury lodging.  The natural beauty of the Hudson Valley beckons us outside –  so why not take advantage of it while enjoying the best of both worlds: sleeping under the stars and gathering around the campfire without having to lug all the equipment and huddle in a sleeping bag on the hard, uncomfortable ground at the end of the day.

Owner Nicole Friedman has taken her background in hospitality and applied it to a camping experience like no other, believing that the great outdoors can be both fun and glamorous.  Each all-weather canvas luxury pop-up tent (minus the Naked) has a real mattress, super soft bedding, small entrance rug, solar twinkle lights, small trash can, solar flashlight, and first aid kit.  Guests can dial up the luxury with decadent add ons, including picnic baskets, mirrors, chandeliers, and more!

The campsite at Woodstock Meadows offers two spacious safari tents furnished as comfortable bedrooms. The 24-acre property includes a giant fire pit, fields, streams, ponds & hiking trails, where groups can immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of nature.  All amenities are provided, including a fully equipped BBQ kitchen, a screened-in dining gazebo with a solar charging station, and toiletries, towels, and robes.

The Bellfire Tipi is often called “magical” and “a fairytale” by its guests, choosing this spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of the day-to-day. Unplug and recharge at this former apple orchard where guests explore the 15 acres of land alongside free-range chickens, ducks, and friendly goats. Choose from among seven chic and cozy accommodations, inclusive of both yurt and tent options for private and luxurious living space. There is no electricity or running water, yet solar lighting and private composting toilets, and camping-style solar outdoor showers allow you to experience nature in relative comfort.

This recent newcomer in Catskill, New York offers easy access to Catskill Park by day and the trappings of modern luxury by night. Built on a former RV park, a wide range of options for accommodations includes everything from a treehouse to an Airstream trailer, to luxury cottages, to canvas glamping tents.  No detail is overlooked in this woman-owned business, from the chic design to the sustainable business practices.
