An Egg-cellent Easter in the Valley

Get ready for some exciting family fun in the Hudson Valley! Spring is here and that means it’s time to plan some Easter fun for the whole family. Between egg dyeing, egg hunting and sampling delicious holiday treats there are plenty of options all across the Valley. During this time of new beginnings, it’s wonderful to celebrate with some tried-and-true seasonal rituals. 

So for peeps sake, quit yolking around and rsvp soon for some of these great offerings. And btw, we carrot wait to hear back from you about the hoppy time you had; we’re dyeing to even see a photo or two. #easterfun!

A continuous egg hunt, arts and crafts, a visit from the Easter Bunny and some face painting from 10 am to noon. Activities are free.

The Easter Bunny Express | April 1, 2 and 8 |  Get the Details HERE
Catskill Mountain Railroad Company, 55 Plaza Road, Kingston

Families can take an hour-long train ride to visit the very friendly Easter Bunny and take part in an Easter Egg Hunt. The express runs April 1, 2 and 8.

Andy Murphy Midtown Neighborhood Center, 467 Broadway, Kingston

For $1 admission (12 and under are free ), participants can take part in an Easter Egg Hunt and a free raffle ticket for a chance to win a chocolate bunny.  Registration is required. Email STONEDHANDMADE@Mail.com. The Egg Scavenger Hunt starts at 2 pm. Children can also get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. DJ Carl Dayton will play music and over 40 vendors, crafters and local artisans will offer food, desserts, gourmet popcorn and cotton candy.

Hunt for Easter eggs, meet the Easter Bunny and make a craft, starting  at 10 am. Be sure to bring a basket . The rain date is April 8.

The 35th Annual Easter Egg Hunt | Get the Details HERE
Historic Huguenot Street, New Paltz

The event takes place from noon to 3 pm. The Easter Egg Hunt begins at 1 pm, starting with ages 1 to 3, then 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and finally 10 to 12. There’s also a bouncy house, rescue vehicles, a small petting zoo, 50/50 raffle, balloons, DJ Jay Smooth and a visit by the Easter Bunny. Altogether the event will provide 5,000 eggs, all with candy or stickers (for the younger groups) and some with slips of paper to redeem special prizes. The rain date is 4/2.

For Adults: Robibero Winery in New Paltz has a Boozy Egg Hunt on April 1 and 8. The Boozy Egg Hunt, for those 21+, is $20 a person and comes with one glass of wine/cocktail/beer. The Kid’s Easter Egg Hunt is free and comes with complimentary photos with the Easter Bunny and live music. The event starts at noon. The Easter Bunny will be there for photos until 3 pm. Live music. The Easter Bunny will visit The Apple Core for some photo opps from noon to 4 pm. Visitors can enjoy some complimentary hot chocolate and an easter treat.

Pysanky: Ukrainian Easter Egg Workshop | Get the Details HERE
Grace Church, 3328 Franklin Avenue Millbrook

Artist Anita Kiewra will teach participants to make beautiful multi-colored dyed eggs using the methods of Ukrainian Pysanky and other Eastern European traditions and tools. This event is primarily intended for adults, due to the use of hot wax. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. All supplies will be provided and participants go home with one decorated egg. Consider bringing an apron to protect clothing from the dye coloring. Participants are limited. The cost is $20 per person. The event runs from 12:30 to 2:30.

Reservations are required for the First Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Zoo. A fee of $25 includes egg hunt, pony ride, admission for one child and one adult. The Easter Bunny will be hopping around the zoo during the egg hunts.  The zoo will not be open to the general public for this event, but will open for the season on April 8. APRIL 7th to 9th 2023

Easter Weekend at the Mohonk Mountain House  | Get the Details HERE

Easter weekend at Mohonk Mountain House is a celebration for all ages, full of music, crafts and entertainment for the whole family. The Easter Egg Hunt Bags workshop with Casey Carr  from 10 am to 2 pm on April 8 shows parents and children how to make Easter Egg Hunt bags using fabric scraps to decorate durable cloth bags. All materials will be supplied. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Egg decorating will take place at 3 pm and an Easter Egg Hunt is planned for 10:30 to 11 am on April 9. An Adult Easter Egg Hunt follows at 11:30 am. Grand Prizes await the first, second, and third place winners. All participants must be at least 21 years old. Valid ID must be presented at the start of the hunt.

Celebrate Easter with Family and Friends at the Historic Montgomery Mills. City Winery is excited to offer their 1st Annual Easter Egg Hunt which will take place on the Great Lawn WHERE starting at 10:30 am on Sunday, April 9th.   • I’m curious why Saugerties is not represented in this fairly comprehensive article. Is there some way to report to someone at Inside+Out? Or did the writer simply do an online search?

    If the latter, you can find a Lions Club Easter Egg hunt in neighboring Glasco on April 1st.
