SUMMARY:TEST EVENT MUTLI-DAY
DESCRIPTION:KIERAN KINSELLA is a sculptor and furniture maker based in New York’s Hudson Valley. ‘Kinsella uses all kinds of locally sourced and salvaged wood. By salvaged he means that\, if he can find wood through a tree service or from a place where the logs are just going to be used for firewood\, “that’s my favorite to use\, because it’s rescue wood; …Repurposing salvaged wood is what he considers an homage to nature… Kinsella notes that for many artists\, “scaling up\,” as he terms it\, is viewed as a marker of success. Kinsella\, however\, prefers being hands-on with his own work; each of his pieces reflects his unique\, solitary labors.’ – Chris Hartman / Upstate Diary

She was briefly a member of Anton Fier’s band The Golden Palominos in 2013. Her 5th CD as a leader (featuring Doug Wieselman and Kato Hideki) was released in 2014 on the label XtraWATT (ECM). Downbeat magazine gave the album 4 1/2 stars. She appears on the Ghost Train Orchestra / Kronos Quartet recording Song and Symphoniques: The Music of Moondog as a guest vocalist and chromatic harmonica player and has performed with them several times in NYC. In 2024\, she played chromatic harmonica and Hammond organ on her mother’s final big band arrangement “Blue Palestine”\, which was commissioned by Arturo O’Farrill for The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra and appears on his recording Mundoagua: Celebrating Carla Bley. \nKato Hideki is a composer\, musician & producer. His compositions include: Hope & Despair featuring Dougie Bowne\, Zeena Parkins & John Zorn; Tremolo of Joy featuring Charles Burnham\, Briggan Krauss\, Ed Tomney & Calvin Weston; and Tokoshieni for Ballet X\, which was performed at the Kennedy Center and was awarded the Charles and Joan Gross Family Prize. SUMMARY:Florist Performs 'The Birds Outside Sang' & 'Holdly' with Hello Shark
DESCRIPTION:Enter Florist’s world: quiet yet expansive\, deeply personal yet instantly connective – at Colony\, Friday\, Feb 20th w/ Hello Shark! \nFLORIST \nFlorist began in the Catskill Mountains as the friendship project of Emily Sprague\, Rick Spataro\, and Jonnie Baker\, later joined by Felix Walworth. Holdly (2015) and The Birds Outside Sang (2016) captured the earliest moments of that bond; hushed\, homespun songs shaped equally by intimacy and resilience. The latter was written in the aftermath of Sprague’s near-fatal bike accident\, beginning in solitude and concluding with the band’s return to each other\, offering a portrait of healing\, community\, and the power of sound shared among friends. These recordings became cornerstones of Florist’s world: quiet yet expansive\, deeply personal yet instantly connective. \nIn the years since\, Florist has carried those themes forward across four more full-lengths. If Blue Could Be Happiness (2017) offered a meditation on grief and memory\, while Emily Alone (2019) distilled Sprague’s voice into stark\, solitary reflections before the band reunited for the expansive\, self-titled Florist (2022)\, a culmination of their collaborative spirit. Most recently\, Jellywish (2025) found the quartet embracing surrealism and possibility\, holding both the magic and weight of existence at once. A decade on\, the reissue of Holdly and The Birds Outside Sang highlights the origins of that journey\, preserving the tenderness and friendship at Florist’s core while tracing the roots of a band that continues to evolve with wonder and care. \nHELLO SHARK \nHello Shark is the musical project of Linc Halloran (born August 31\, 1988)\, a Kittery\, Maine based singer-songwriter. Since 2006\, Halloran has released a handful of albums and EPs including Break Arms (2010)\, H.S (2012)\, and the critically acclaimed Delicate (2016). Hello Shark features a rotating cast of musicians on releases and live performances\, and has consistently toured North America since the band’s formation.

SUMMARY:Indigenous Inuk Pop: Elisapie
DESCRIPTION:Elisapie Isaac is a Canadian Indigenous Inuk musician\, broadcaster\, documentary filmmaker\, activist\, and actress whose unconditional attachment to her territory and language\, Inuktitut\, remains at the core of her creative journey. \nElisapie was born and raised in Salluit\, a small village in Nunavik\, the northern region of Quebec. In this community accessible only by plane\, she was raised by an extended caring\, yet slightly dysfunctional\, adoptive family. Growing up there she lived through the loss of cousins who ended their lives\, experienced young love\, witnessed first hand the effects of colonialism\, and danced the night away at the village’s community center. \nAs a teenager\, Elisapie began performing on stage with her uncles\, who were themselves members of a famous Inuit rock ’n’ roll band named Sugluk (also known as Salluit Band). During the same time\, she worked at the village’s radio station which broadcast all over Nunavik\, and managed to secure an interview with Metallica at age 15. She moved to Montreal as a bright and ambitious young woman to study and\, ultimately\, pursue a career in music.ince then\, her work has always integrated Inuit themes and rock music. Today\, Elisapie is an emblematic Canadian Inuk singer-songwriter. \nSince winning her first Juno Award in 2005 with Taima\, her band at the time\, Elisapie’s body of work has been frequently praised. Her 2018 album The Ballad of the Runaway Girl was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize\, earned her numerous Félix Awards\, and received a nomination at the Junos. Following this critically acclaimed album\, Elisapie performed with the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal at the invitation of Yannick Nézet-Séguin\, at the SummerStage Festival in New York City’s Central Park and in the NPR office for her own Tiny Desk Session\, as well as in several venues and festivals locally and internationally. \nFor this concert\, Elisapie will perform from her latest album Inuktitut\, which covers 10 classic rock and pop songs from the 1960s to the 90s\, translated into Inuktitut\, her mother tongue. The result is an emotional\, autobiographical soundtrack where each song is associated with a loved one or an intimate story. Acclaimed by audiences and critics alike\, Inuktitut is the artist’s second album to land a shortlist nomination for the Polaris Music Prize. Its success also earned Elisapie two Juno Awards and five awards at the 2024 ADISQ Gala.

Patrick’s songs have been featured in primetime crowd-pleasers like Grey’s Anatomy and This Is Us\, as well as in multiple arthouse films from Denis Villeneuve (Polytechnique)\, Wim Wenders (Perfect Days) \, and Philippe Falardeau (C’est pas moi\, je le jure!) and more. He’s an artist who’s as comfortable performing impromptu pop-up shows on the train tracks in a Quebec mining town as he is leading the BBC Orchestra at London’s prestigious Barbican. He’s an in-demand composer with over 15 film scores under his belt. He was awarded the prestigious inaugural Impact Award at the 2024 Canadian Sync Awards. Watson’s viral single “Je te laisserai des mots” became the first French song to accumulate 1 billion streams on Spotify. \nBut whether you discovered Patrick Watson through your local indie record shop\, a movie soundtrack\, a social-media video\, a European music festival\, his hit collaboration with Cinematic Orchestra (2007’s “To Build a Home”)\, or through his appearance alongside Patti Smith and Michael Stipe at the 2021 Pathway to Paris all-star benefit concert\, his music has a similar effect on all who enter his kaleidoscopic sound-world. The songs of Patrick Watson transform your everyday surroundings into your own imaginary wonderland\, translating stress and sorrow into joy\, and helping you find peace within the chaos of modern life.
